Children's services include a combination of one-on-one drama therapy sessions with the child, group sessions with the child and members of their social network (parents, siblings...) and monthly parent consultations.
The child remains the client, although parental involvement is ESSENTIAL to the effectiveness of the therapeutic process. The use of play is the primary modality for meetings with the child and changes according to the age and needs of the client.
Issues often addressed in session:
- Self-esteem and identity (2SlGBTQ+, culture...)
- Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, and/or Giftedness)
- Grief
- Violence and trauma
- Conflict between / with parents
- Systemic oppression (racism, colonialism, homophobia...)
Themes explored:
- Games and interests
- Emotions
- Interpersonal relationships and boundaries
- Special needs / sensory preferences
- Relationship to the body
- School power dynamics
Sessions for children are 45 minutes in length in order to respect their ability to concentrate.
Cost: 150$ to 165$ taxes / 45-50 minutes
